We have had our 4-week old chickens outside all day starting Friday. Usually we bring them inside at night but I was home by myself and couldn't catch one of them. Because I didn't want her to be out by herself in the pen all night, I put all the others outside again. Sunday two of them started fighting a little and the others just seemed off. We decided to bring them in for the night so they wouldn't have to endure the temperature extremes from 108 down to 70. They were so happy to be inside and interacting with us! We think they just missed us holding them and playing. Thought you might enjoy these pictures. We still aren't sure of the breeds that we have but think the two black and whites are Plymouth Rock and the two tan and reddish brown are Ameraucana. Any help on the others would be appreciated.

70 isn't bad for 4 week olds. My last 4 week olds were out in the 50s at night. They just hunker together in the grass.

Is your pen predator proof?

It is a temporary pen we move around the yard. It is safe enough from flying predators and we don't have any way for other animals to get in the yard. We are working on their coop and hope to have it finished soon.
