But what i am asking is, if the schools sell the bodies after they are done using them for science? So people can make art objects out of them or whatever. Ooh, i hope not..i have family members that donated their bodies to science..but NOT to anyone else!

My father passed away this May. He wanted his body to be donated to a medical school so that future students could learn from his body. I miss him, but I'm proud of his choice - what a kind and noble thing to do for students. He is making it possible for people to be better doctors ... I'm going to meet the students who have been assigned to work on him this coming December... they have a memorial service for the families, but it also serves the purpose to humanize the body... to show that it is a person with a family, friends, life story and that they were more than just a subject...
I think that in the case of the Body Works cadavers, they are unclaimed transients ( oh that sounds bad, no disrespect ) - I heard that but cannot be sure. I imagine some of the cadavers came from personal choice donations too...
I sign on to BYC every day because I'm grieving. I look forward to chicken talk... When I was born, my father and mother had chickens. I grew up with BR's and RIR's... so in a way, my dad's legacy lives on through me!

I'm so sorry about your Father. Yes, he did a very noble thing by donating his body to the school.
