We started out with 8 young layers 6 red sexlink and 2 buff orpingtons. We were getting between 6 and 8 eggs daily even during the Wa winter with a heat lamp in there house. About a month and a half ago we added 5 more young layers to the group. Now we get on average 4 to 6 eggs a day. We have added more daily vegetables and more yard for them to forage in.They have 3 nesting boxes in their house that is 4ftx8ft. Trying to figure out how to get the daily egg #'s back up. Thank you for any help.

I'm certainly no expert, but perhaps adding the new hens caused a teeny it of stress for the oldies and that's why? I believe there's an article on here about different reasons for a drop in egg production.

Welcome to the site by the way.
