This is the time of year when I like to hatch chicks. Less chance of losses when it is this warm (even the drafts are warm). Have hatched out 29 cochin chicks so far with another 20+ in the incubator. Have both black cochin bantams and columbian cochin bantams. I have had some good luck with hens hatching some chicks this year but have had to move some to the incubator as they are often trying to hatch more eggs than they can cover. I like the convieniance of using the hens as brooders but have better luck playing mother hen over my incubator. Hoping for some more good show birds out of these chicks. Good luck to all.
