More, less or the same when separated? And what's normal?

I have a group of 14 mature roosters together in a run and then a short distance away I have another mature rooster with 10 cockerels. I am about to split the mature males up into pens with the girls for breeding.

At the moment they roosters pretty much crow non stop from 4.30 am to about 3.30 pm in the afternoon. They are Marans.

My question is: Will they crow more, less or the same when separated into pens with their girls, from your experience?

I guess I should also ask is it normal to crow so much. I just got this flock a couple of weeks ago so still trying to understand.

Thanks in advance for your help.

With that many males I'm surprised you aren't hearing non-stop competitive crowing from 2-3 am until 8-9 pm even in fall/winter. Come next spring it will get worse.

I just gave away 2 roosters leaving me with 3, the amount of crowing went way down! I keep extra roosters in bachelor pads, with only 1 on the flock, the rest of the birds free range. (150'x225') I also have breeding pens when I want to use them.
What I no longer do is rooster flocks, a pullet got in one, they killed her taking turns mating her even after she was dead and cold they were still going after her. My grandkids tossed in a stuffed animal with the same response, they took turns mating it,,, I butchered them all! Never again, not for me!
