So far they have pretty much doubled in size per week. We started with 10 chicks, 10 still going strong. They have been under a white light for about a week now.

This is our first time with them and so far so good. They are flighty and after about a week they were able to jump out of the first brooder. I've been trying to work with them so they won't be so flighty but it hasn't worked very well.

I am keeping a close eye on them. There is one downside though - Sharon is starting to give me funny looks and ask why I keep looking at Pheasants
butts. lol I watched them real close when we put them under the white light, they have been under that about a week now. so far so good

They are so pretty. I am amazed at how much my easter egger chicks look like baby pheasant and full grown quail. Maybe that is why they have been my favorite chick, they are unusual.

You have really pretty birds, Steve. I have learned a lot from your posts. I am going to add Bourbon Red turkeys to the farm shortly. I plan on ordering eggs from you.

Thanks Holly, each bird is different I guess that's why we can't have just one, or two or or or. On the turkeys we probably aren't going to be shipping to much longer, once it gets to hot we quit for the summer.

Nice looking birds Steve. You may want to exchange the bulb with a red one, this is the time and the next few weeks, where they will show signs of cannibalism. Dark room, red light.
