moscovy for meat?

When I put in my chick order I was thinking of getting 4 ducks. Are they easy to sex? I was thinking of just keeping 2 female for eggs and buy 2 for meat though a breeding duo would be fine too, though if at 21/2 months they bother me I can butcher them all. Could you tell by 21/2 months the sex of them?

I have no idea about the sexing question.

I do know, however, that Muscovy meat is FABULOUS!!!

Breast meat tastes like lean steak. Now I'm hungry!

The meat is delish, and the males are nearly twice the size of the females, so it'll be fairly easy.

The muscovy are the best to eat. They taste like beef when it comes of the grill.
Their eggs are big and good too. I have some for meat and eggs.

I've been able to sex mine at 2-3 months. The drakes are larger bodied and have much larger feet. I noticed the foot size first. The meat is amazing. We have 6 that we are breeding for meat and cannot wait for them to start laying. Hopefully this darn cold weather is almost done.
