I live in So Texas and we just had a hurricane which left tons of mosquitoes. I have Eradicators hanging in the yard. I put cedarcide around my porch and the house, not near my chickens, I believe it's toxic for them. Keeping them inside is not an option, but also these mosquitoes are tiny get in anywhere. Anyone have any sugestions?

They also have little mosquitoe bites on their waddles and probably other places too. Any advice on treating those would be appreciated.

We had heavy rains and flooding a few weeks ago which left us with similar issues. Our hens were spending a lot of time in the coop to avoid the worst of the bugs. We used a fan last year when bugs and temperatures were bad and we broke it out again this year. We set it up to blow into a shady portion in their run and they absolutely do use it. Sometimes they will lay where only their head is in the fan breeze so as just to keep the bugs away from heads. It is a cool 72 right now and the bug count has dropped considerably but they will be laying in front of the fan when it heats up or the bugs start getting to them.
