So happy to announce that we currently have not one but TWO broodies in the barn. If thats not exciting enough its a mother (Cirra) and her daughter (Soci) !!!!
Heres a picture of soci just a week old, (tan chick in the front) and now shes going to have her own babies!!!
Cirra is our "senior" broody and very reliable. However she gets kicked out of the nest and we have lost a couple hatches
If she had made every time she went broody we would have Alot more chicks! So I seperated her and soci in the top nest boxes and put the roost up so they cant get out. I let them out daily for food and drink but they have a tendency of going back to the wrong nest, so better be safe than sorry!
