Ok a Mather hen hatched out only one baby in with the flock and we just watched her but let it be natural mostly. She took her chick out in the flock with her and always protected her . The other chickens would look curiously at her but that was it. She stayed amidst the flock day and night .
now she’s bigger but still small. She’s just four weeks tomorrow. She sleeps with everyone but under mama on the ground
Today I seen three chickens chasing her and mama DIDNT CARE !!!!!!
I don’t understand this
She’s been with them all since birth

Hens leave their chicks anytime after three week. At that point the chicks are big enough to care for themselves. It is unfortunate that your hen had only one chick. When there's a group they stick together day and night. It is normal for the flock to show the chick the pecking order. If the situation gets too rough be prepared to take the chick out of the flock. Being kept in a cage in sight of the flock is a good method to use. That way, when the chick is big enough to go back into the flock, the transition will be easier in that the birds already know each other.

I have a inside the coop visible cage but right now I have a setting hen in there about to hatch out five babies f this would’ve happened sooner , I would’ve put this one under her but the chick looks to big now. She should have her babies before Saturday so then I may see I wish she’d adopt this one but I think she will protect her babies from this poor little lonely chick
I’ll put her in the cage and see if I can buy a couple of chicks to
Put in with her
Shoot I’m so
Pissed off at the mother , like damn I have a big scary flock she couldn’t have kept this one with her a bit longer
