We have a chick, Yngwie,* that is only two months old; her'his mother died in transit.
Right now, Yngwie is sleeping in my room as a temporary solution, to escape the cold NC nights.
During the day, he/she is bullied by larger chickens; he/she runs away, and is usually unhurt, but i am concerned that i will find it dead one day because it didn't have its mother.

* Pronounced INGVAY, after Yngwie Malmsteen. My 4 year old sister named it after hearing me listen to his songs, and asking me what i was listening to.

All of my homebred chicks were off on their own by the time they were two months old so it should be fine. I Have the same worry for my bantam rooster who gets picked on by the other roosters (I have a bit of a rooster problem) but if I just peek outside on him ever once in a while he is fine. so just look out for the chick. their mother left them on their own

Keeping it in your room isn’t helping it integrate into the flock. At 8 weeks if it was raised with the flock, it should survive them bossing it around.
Build someplace short enough for chick to get under that others cannot. Make sure you have multiple water and food stations.
