Mottled Java Breeding Help

My family & I just purchased 10 female Mottled Java Chicks from our local feed store & after researching the breed & its history, we've decided to go ahead with keeping up a breeding stock. I was wondering if anyone on BYC could lend a few suggestions for breeding them. We are new to the breed & would love any information on them ! Thanks in advance.

If they came from a feed store they will likely be poor representatives of the breed. Javas of good quality are hard to find and need all the breeders they can to help improve the breed and keep their numbers from plumetting. A buddy of mine has some nice ones and is actually thinking of getting rid of them so Ill probably be taking them off his hands.

Thank you for your input. So far, we have done our best to try & see the quality in these chicks, but they are only about 5 or so days old, so it is hard to tell. We also plan to purchase some higher proven quality chicks from breeders to build stock.
