My 5 hens have lost feathers on backs and bottoms, had a rooster and thought it was because of him wearing them out. Don't have the rooster any more, been about a month and a half, but the girls are still bald on backs and butts. What should I do?

It takes a while for the feathers to grow back. Check for mites, that might be the problem. Near the vent and under the wing they are easier to spot. Also check at night when the hens are roosting. Good luck!

I will check for mites...can you see them or are they microscopic? Do they get on people? What should I do if I find them?

Mites are little black bugs. You don't need a microscope to see them. (visable to human eye) There are many ways to treat them. I've always used 7 dust. For more info on them try going to the search box and typing in mites/treatment.

Good Luck!
