just decided to get back into birds. got a new 1502 gqf and a hovabator with humidikit. I bought 12 mountain quail eggs on ebay. 7 of 12 developed and all 7 hatched out this morning. i have 11 more going into lockdown friday. some have pipped days ago and i was able to make myself not intervene. they all just decided to hatch within 30 minutes. it was interesting
Congrats. Although the thing with Mountain Quails that's difficult, is the first few weeks. Some tend to just kick the bucket for no reason. (my guess is weak genes) And sometimes you'll get some that's nice healthy and easy to raise. Wish you all the luck!
Congratulations mountains are a little more demanding than other quail species.
That was a decent hatch from shipped eggs, especially mountain eggs.
Best wishes on the next hatch!
