Mountain Quail

I have a friend that wants me to raise some Mountain Quail for him. Can someone recommend a source for these chick or eggs.

Make sure you friend knows that the mtn quail are very hard to raise. Your friend might need to have a wild life and game licince. Try typing in "Moutain Quail for sale" on google

I raise mountain quail ,also ihave afriend that raises them,hard to sex,and they are toe pickers. when you see that there is blood in your pen,catch the quail and treat with blu-kote asap. also you need apen about 12ft long 4ftwide and 4fthigh. theobject is togive the birds lots of room ,withroost and ahouse on one end with shavings . this willgive you room forat least 6quail,2 males and4 hens, would make agood breeding colony. they love greens,apples,berries and ikeep abig pan of sand in my pen,this keeps them from being bored and they love the sand. eggs are 5.00 apiece and pairs are $100.00 apair. To late for chicks but there are young adults being offered on eggbid.com every once in a while. I bought my eggs on eggbid and hatched out two several months ago.

Please be sure you read about these guys and do your research before purchasing any birds or eggs. These quail are very hard to hatch out and even harder to keep alive after they hatch. I sold all of my quail due to this matter. I would hatch 20 chicks and lose more than half of them. These are very fragile little guys. Maybe it was just my luck. But I have heard this from many others too. If you are not expierianced with this type of bird I would not recommend them. These are very expensive birds and the females only produce between 9-maybe 18 eggs a year.
