We just found evidence of a mouse eating out of a spare food container that I had accidentally left out.

Anyways I saw it scurry under the coop earlier,

I’ve removed uncovered food and trash, and I know my chickens will eat it on sight,

But is there anything else I can do in terms of removing the pest???

If you only have a few, your chickens.should take care of them. If you have an infestation, here are a few things to try.

Try not to use poison. If a mouse eats it and scurries into you coop and your chickens catch it your chickens will be poisoned to. If not that, some other animal could get it. There are a few poisons that don't affect other animals but do your research.

I recommend bucket traps. I've had great success with them and they are easy to rig.

Snap traps. They work well for a while but can be slow going and if the moise see dead mice in them, they will learn to avoid them.

To prevent mice, make sure you don't leave out any food. Do your best to cover any holes.

Good luck!
