Moved Broody Hen and Eggs... and she's ticked!

Okay, so I realized today that my other hens were a) laying in my broody's spot and b) maybe choosing not to lay at all? so I decided to move out little momma. I have a extra large pet carrier (we use it for our goats, so it's BIG). I put in hay (the same hay as in the nesting box I moved her from), water, and food. I put a towel over the wire door to give her privacy. She's started setting again after 10 minutes, but she got up and pitched a fit and then got back down again. I'm assuming her adjustment period won't hurt the eggs too badly?

Hens get off the eggs daily for about 15 mintutes to eat, etc so no, it shouldn't effect

the eggs

It takes 20 minutes for the egg to start cooling down, anyways.

Next time, I find it goes easier if you make the move at night, in the dark.

another idea for the future would be to have some sort of tray (small litter box?) in the nest box so you can move the whole thing. may be less stressful for all involved.

I just went out and checked on her, and she's setting like a champ. I think we're okay. What a good momma!
