So we just finished the coop! Horray! In the interim we have had one chicken ( the one of eight that survived the weasel attack which is why the new coop was needed) and she has lived in a small summerhawk ranch cage with coop. I went to go visit today and she ran out of the new coop back to her old house to lay her egg for the day, and she laid in within 10 mins so it was like she was saving it up. How do I encourage her to use her new nesting boxes? I don’t want her to get eggbound.

I'd buy some fake eggs and place lots of extra bedding in the new boxes, maybe shuffle you're hands about like your 'showing of you're perfect box" to her to make her jealous and she'll want to test it out and adjust it to her liking, she'll be very proud to have 'taken it over'

Keep her confined to the new coop to 'home' her to new coop and nests.
She won't be happy, but I doubt it will make her egg bound.
Are new nests easy to access?
Fake eggs in new nests can definitely help.
