So I moved the chicks out to the hen house. They are about 3 weeks old. It's been a steady 95+ degrees here in Tennessee and the garage has been far hotter than that with no supply of fresh air. I put the lamp in there to keep them warm at night, it's only been dropping to the high 70's. Hope they will be alright out there being so young, but the garage is just too hot

How many chicks? If you have several they will keep each other warm. I stopped using a lamp about 2 weeks, but it was quite warm in south Texas and we had 25 in the garage. They went to the coop at 4 weeks.

Best of luck

I moved 4 chicks outside at 3 weeks old, it's low-mid 80's at nite here, so I didn't use a heat lamp. I wouldn't think you would need one with the temps you mentioned. They do like to pile up to sleep at night, so that keeps them warm too.
