So I've had my chicks for about 2 months now, they are doing great and lay one egg per chick a day.

We have three nesting boxes for them inside but they will only lay their eggs outside in the sun, if they are locked in the coop when they are ready to lay they go insane and literally try to ripe the screening out of the door!

Unfortunately, we had to move our chickens from one side of the yard to the other. They are in an open area where they can roam around with lots of room to run and play. Somehow, and I haven't figured it out yet, they are getting to the other side of the yard where they used to be and laying their eggs over there! How can I fix this problem? I have read about the golf ball trick but I don't have any, and fake eggs are impossible to find unless its Easter time. Can I just sacrifice one of their eggs and place it where I'm wanting them to lay? Because thats what I'm doing right now, but so far it hasn't worked.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Fake eggs or a sacrificed fresh egg may do the trick. If you're using a fresh egg make sure you mark it clearly, so you don't accidentally collect it with the fresh ones.
