Ok so in 6 months I may be moving near Houston Texas and right now I’m near McAlester Oklahoma. It will be a 7hr dive and I have 24 chickens and 6 guineas, I’ve got around 14 adults right now so by the time I move it will be 30 adult birds and I have no idea how I will transport them, has anyone else done this before

When I transport mine I use dog crates, put some shavings in, they don't need food or water while traveling. I've never taken mine that far but should still work

I saw someone who put a coop on a flatbed car trailer and build a run around that to the limits of the trailer. Plexiglass around the bottom half of the hardware cloth enclosed run to block the wind from driving. Not sure how many birds they had or how far they were driving, but mound some outdoor roost, add some whiskey barrels planted with a tree, a dust bath, and away you go.

You should at least consider leaving them in the area you are now as in rehoming them or selling them and starting over in your new place. Chickens hate change, and this will be huge, - different coop/run, different climate, plus the trip. Stresses like this can bring on dormant diseases.

DO do the state laws! This may be expensive and a royal inconvenience but it is so important to do it. Do move them in the night.

Do you think I could put the roosters in their own cages in the back seat and just put tons of tie downs on the coop and transport all of my hens on them

I can’t, I have too many expensive birds that I love and don’t want to get rid of, I will just do what other people say
