Hi, When we move our tractor coop (it doesn't have a floor in the main coop) we put our girls in a fenced in area. We have a net over the fenced in area (it's portable) so that means I have to duck walk into the area and hand the chicks to my husband who put them in the moved tractor coop. My husband tried to move the coop with the girls in it and almost squished one of them under the coop. Any other ideas how to move a tractor coop with the chickens in it?

Thanks!

I move mine usually from the end that I can see everyone, and still it's a slow move. I haven't had anything younger than 15 weeks in a tractor though, yet.

Our girls right now are only 8 weeks old. Right now we have a temporary fence around the coop and my husband is going to put up a taller fence so they will have plenty of room to run around and find bugs.

That's great. Tractor life has its pluses and minuses for us. We have one flock that gets to run wild, the rest only see tractor life. We'd love to let them all out but without individual fences around each tractor we're afraid they're might be fighting between Roos.

I make moves late in evening and let birds out before actually doing it. Tractor is left propped up so birds can return to roost, then tractor put back down in closed mode. Birds must be used to tractor for nearly a week to work.

I usually move mine in the morning before I let them out of the coop.
