We moved from CA to SD after military retirement. Put my 11 chickens into 4 dog crates for travel in the back of our covered pickup.
Put 3 big hens w/1 Silkie rooster. 4 other hens together. 1 new rooster alone in a crate. 2 baby Silkie (3 months old) in a small crate.
Watered them every stop and only food for the night. Covered with a towel at night. Truck vents open the whole time.
large dog towels wrapped around the dog tray. Never changed out, just kept going. Set them outside during lunchtime stop.
had a delay in house closing, but sister let me keep in her empty coop.
questions about my experience are fine. NO DEATHS, INJURIES...very stressful, but still got eggs every day!
