Hey everyone! Just had a quick question about my 4 little button Quail. As some of you may know Florida is about to get hit with a dangerous hurricane. Being born and raised here, this is actually scary to me.
I have 4 button Quail in a big indoor tank. 2 of them are nesting. I have 3 females and 1 male. I wanted to ask if I just move them to my emergency cage for travel, will it be too traumatic for the nesting mothers? Or should I just ignore it? I know this is a silly question, but I've never dealt with birds like "these" before. Haha

Thank you!

It probably will upset them if you move them. Moving any broody bird is a risk. If you have to evacuate you may just have to sacrifice the eggs. I'd move the nests into the travel cage and try and put them in the same place in relation to where they are in your tank in case they decide they do want to keep sitting but the stress of their environment changing will probably make them think it's better to abandon the nest and try again when it's 'safer'. I sure hope it doesn't come to that. Keep safe and you'll be in my thoughts!
