Moving chicks to wire floor?

I just moved some Texas A&M's on to wire at 12 days.
I think I could have done it ealier.
Wire is 1x 1/2 14 gauge rabbit wire.

I get my chicks on wire right after they have figured out where the food is. They do fine on wire after that, day or night. HOWEVER....always offer chicks and adults alike a place to rest their feet and get off the wire at all times. Their feet do get tired and sore and it will help keep them from getting bumblefoot or other pad issues if you offer a place of relief. So you should put in a pan of sand at this time. Even a towel or piece of cardboard that you can change out occasionally. The sand will get them dust bathing already and give them a place to rest the feet. So will the towel or cardboard.

Thanks Y'all.

This Was My First Hatch, And They Came From My Birds. I Set 35 Eggs And All ButThree Hatched. IOpened The Ones That Didn't Hatch To See Why. Two Had What I Call Scissor Beak. The Beak Doesn't Line Up... I Actually Have A Hen That Is Like That,So I'm Assuming They Can From Her..? The Third, I'm Not Really Sure.
