So I have a little backyard flock of mixed breeds who free range during the day and nest at night in a secure coop. The coop was getting a bit small for them all so I spent 15 back breaking hours building a coop extension for my five lovely ladies. Two weeks later they still aren't using it! I was initially pretty peeved
(as you might imagine, threats of the cooking pot ) but sort of got over it. That was until this afternoon when I decided it's time for a new sister to join the flock.
The part of the coop they are currently happily using definitely won't be big enough for all of them so I am hatching a plan to get them to start using the "Ritz" extension that they have so far been ignoring. I was thinking I will just move them into the other room in the middle of the night for a few nights and see if it takes. Reckon this will work? Any better suggestions?
Thanks in advance
