i have 3 chicks that hatched on Christmas day. they have been in the house in the same room as the fireplace so it hasnt been below 70. i have been taking them outside into the coop for the last few days and it hasnt seemed to bother them, yet. our avg temp outside has been high 20's, low in the high teens. now i have just put them in to coop in a non draft area and they havent been outside.
they appear to be fully feathered.

will moving them out to the coop hurt them?

I was always told to lower the chicks room temp by 5 deg. every week from birth, starting around 95-100. well i dont really lower there temp because they stay in my fireplace room and that is free heat!! so at what age can i just put them outside in the coop??
should i harden them off by placing them outside for a few hours every day for a week or so??
