I am a returning member. I am going to be moving to Aurora,CO in a few months for work. Does anyone know of chicken friendly landlords in the Denver area? I also have 1 dog (very small) and two rabbits. I really want to have chickens again after I move and am hoping someone on here knows about landlords in that area. I had chickens when i lived in the Adirondacks, but moved to be closer to my job. I live in a village now and they do not allow chickens so I've had to be without them. I was excited to learn that Denver, Aurora, and most cities/towns in that area allow them.

Greetings and welcome back to BYC! So glad you re-joined us. I moved here to TX from outside Denver (NE in Brighton area). Most cities/towns there now allow chicken ownership. The trick will be to find a property owner that will allow you to. Much will depend on where you're working and where you choose to rent/live (commute times can be sheer hell if you need to use I-25, I-225 or I-70 anywhere inside the I-470 <toll rd E of I-70> beltway). You'll stand a better chance of success if you live outside of the bigger cities right around Denver proper (including Aurora).

There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
