This past spring I got 5 laying hens. My neighbors have been wonderful but....I just purchased a new home with a lil bit of land and wanted to share my blank slate I'll be starting with for my chickens. Additionally I'd like to add that I have no idea what I'm doing, so any input is welcome! I will be using the entire side and plan on getting more hens next spring. I'd like to get a rooster but need to learn more before we start having babies

Welcome to BYC . You may be interested in the coops and predator sections to learn what is necessary for raising healthy chickens and safeguard them from predators. Joining your state thread will provide you with the experience of chick folks who have gotten their birds thru the climate etc. and best advise you how to do so.
