only the shadow knows.....
Ok don't laugh. I'm totally stupid when it comes to these things. I don't even own a cell phone. I head that loud GASP!! I don't need to be talking on the phone when I'm shopping, driving the car and other things. Them people walking around with those little thingies in their ear make me think they are talking to themselves!!

BUT

I'm thinking of getting a MP3 player or an IPOD or whatever so I can listen to tunes while I workout or work out in the garden. Thing is, I have noooooooooooo idea what to get. I don't want something where I have to constantly spend money to download more music. Is there one that I can download from my own CDs?! Plus I don't want something that costs more than I make in a week!

HELP!!

You can put your own stuff on an IPod and they are pretty cheap now.

You can download music from your CD's with EITHER one. With an Ipod you will have to set up an account with Itunes and down load their music. I isn't complicated at all. With an mp3 player you can use other web sites like Napster, I even think Walmart sells music for mp3 players. Mp3 players will come with a disk to put on you computer to organize your music with.

We have both I usually download music form itunes because it so simple then burn those songs to a CD, then copy them for the CD to my mp3 music file. The kids have Ipods (expensive) I use my mp3. Either one are pretty easy to figure out.

I have never used limewire, but my friend has, alot of the files she downloaded from there were corrupt. I don't think I would use them. She doesn't anymore.

I would get an IPOD Nano or shuffle. Since you want to listen to music while working outside, you want to stay away for the MP3 players that contain a mini-hard drive. The nano and shuffle use what is called a "flash drive" which isn't harmed by a lot of movement.

Yes sometime there are corrupt files but it will warn you first. My mother, and she is 77 and I have used it for yrs. with no adverse side effects.

ipod is not the best brand to buy. Creative has a better reputation - even Sony's Walkman MP3 player. Not near as many accessories but a better long term product.

DH just got an MP3 from Circuit City. It's a 2 GB Philips with the carry case, earbuds, & rechargeable batteries w/charger. We can download songs from the 'net or use our own CD's. It was clearanced @ $35
