Hi I've had a few chickens now getting mucky bums then months later finding them dead in coop. I've treated for worms multiple times and coxydosis and neither have sorted. Ive moved uninfected chickens away into temp living but afraid to put back incase it's ground or coop related. Have two ducks that have not been affected at all Any advice? Thanks

Vent gleet isn't caused by worms, and they likely died of dehydration from having diarrhea.
What did you use to treat worms? what do you feed including teats.

I used flubenvet to treat worms. I only feed layer pellets and very rarely mixed corn. They all seemed to catch it of eachother to.Thanks for reply.

Have you tried to see a vet, or have vet do a fecal float on some fresh droppings? The best way to know what has killed a chicken is to send in a body for a necropsy. If you are in the UK, can you find where to get a necropsy done? Did your chickens have any crop disorders, or reproductive problems. Mucky bums could just be from runny droppings, a crop disorder, reproductive infection, intestinal disorder, worms, or fungal infection of the digestive system. Probiotics would be good to use in your feed or as a supplement. Cottage cheese and plain yogurt have some, but commercial probiotics are available for animals.

Great thanks for reply. Will clean coop and free range area and try again and see if it comes back. If so will have to consult a vet.
