Multi generational feed question!

Help me out if you can!

We have 25 adult birds and 2 of them have hatched chicks since mid March. The oldest few are fully feathered and we’ve got them introduced to the flock with no problems. My question is feed…how do I keep the chicks from eating layer feed and the hens from eating the chicken feed? I was told chicks can’t have layer feed until 17w.

Just feed everyone starter or a higher protein non-layer feed, all flock, flock raiser, game bird starter etc, with oyster shell on the side for the layers.
