I know that you can have different breeds together. My question is which breeds get along best. I want to get a Silkie Bantam, a Silkie Frizzle Cochin, a Maran, a Black Australorpe, and a Ameracauna. Also what are the tempers of these birds. I want really sweet, confident chickens. I have a toddler so I dont want them constantly terrified.

The size of the bird doesn't always matter, and try to pick birds with calm attitudes. Barred Rocks and Sex-Links are very friendly, and I've read that Brahmas and Cochins are, too. Just as long as you raise the birds together, they'll get along (though you can introduce new birds, gradually, and it will be fine). No certain breeds get along with others specifically. But, in the end, there will always be a pecking order.
