I have 1 chicken in my pen that's almost a year old. She has never had until today and I found 4 eggs in the coop! All my other chickens are less than 5 weeks old in the pen with her. My husband was just in the coop yesterday catching Pepper and this morning when I checked water there were no eggs. How does this happen?

She's probably been laying somewhere else and has now decided to move them to a central location. My hens carry eggs around all the time.

I had no idea they'd move eggs. Sneaky girl

I would think the eggs would slip out of their beak ... I had no idea they could do that...

They tend to tuck them under their wing, if you have a broody chicken you should always check there! My broody hen is constantly stealing eggs from the other hens to make a clutch

How about some pics of these hens moving eggs?
My girls do not do that, they may hide a nest, and get others to drop an egg or two in it, but still use the same nest they had been most days, she was one tricky hen.
