So I have a friend who moved out to a farm in Buffalo and is starting her chicken keeping journey just like me. She’s had great success with her little ones so far and moved them into an existing coop on her property. Her boyfriend and her were cleaning out the coop and kept finding what they thought were “fake” eggs, but one of them exploded and then they’ve cracked open another one and it has a mummified chick in it. Crazy! I was just wondering how this could’ve happened, or how long the eggs would have to be out there to “mummify”. The eggs are very hard, hence the reason they thought they were all fake eggs at first. Anybody have any experience like this? Also wasn’t sure what thread to post this in...
