Muscle weakness and sleepy eyes in an otherwise healthy chicken

I am beside myself today trying to figure out what is wrong with my roo. He was almost non responsive this am. Acting like he was to weak to stand or hold up his head. He just laid he head over my arm and was acting weak. I forced electrolytes down him with a dropper he is in the house now in a cage acting a little better. But now he has watery poop. What can I do for him.

How is your roo? how old is he? Any other symptoms or other chickens showing symptoms? Look up information for Coccidiosis, some symptoms are runny/watery poop(may or may not contain blood, depends on which of the 9 strains it is)lethargic, fluffed feathers, not eating/drinking,weight loss. If symptoms match, purchase Corid(amprolium)dose for Corid 9.6% liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water, dose for Corid 20% powder is 1 tsp per gallon of water. Treat all chickens for 5 days,do not give vitamins during treatment(interferes with medication)give vitamins after treatment is complete. If he cannot eat or will not eat after about 24 hours, you may have to tube feed him.

Check him for impacted crop.

He seems to be doing much better. He is 20 months old. He is somewhat handicapped so I have to keep him in a cage only about 10 inches off the ground. I was worried he may be sick from the dampness on the ground here lately. Now today he has 2 sores on the side of his waddles. I don't think its pox cause they all had that like a bunch of kids at the same time last year. He is a very picky eater anyway he loves his scrambled eggs in the am. And if I get real desperate for him to eat I will freed him a chopped up turkey dog. My husband says he is spoiled. We are building a new chicken house so soon he will be off the ground with different levels to go up and down for steps nothing more than 10-12 inches. Ok I guess he is a little spoiled.
