I got a email from a rescue group, what jumped out at me was their statement that muscoy ducks eat mosquites.Does anyone with muscoy ducks see a decrease in mosquites around their yard and pond?

I think ducks in general can help somewhat in decreasing mosquito populations but I'm not sure if it's a significant amount.

Yep, and they will eat the eggs also.

Oh yes they sure do! right out of the air, even as ducklings! of coarse right now we're winter

They are best if you have water that is breeding mosquitoes. They will dabble those larvae right out of the water.

Unless your mosquitoes are flying low, the ducks can't reach them. Your best bet for mosquito control would be to encourage the local bats to roost at your place. They will dine on thousands of mosquitoes at dusk.
