I'm going to offer a large number of my 'scovies up for sale. Kinda hoping to help another homesteader out here.

We love ducks, love 'scovies, but we have WAY more than we need, and way more than we want to butcher. Butchering is a lot of work, but the meat is FABULOUS.

We have many adult hens. Ages range from last year's hatch to about 4 years old... productive as of this year if we had let them set a nest (we pulled lots of eggs trying to keep duckling numbers down). I can give an approx. age on most if not all. Drakes are white, blue pied, lilac. Willing to part with all three. :sob: I'm keeping hopefully some young barred drakes instead.

Some ducklings from this year, probably about 15 or so purebreds. Different ages, all are partially feathered or starting to feather - so about 6-8wks old.

We have blues, blacks, chocolates, whites, silvers, lilacs, blue fawns... I selected for Duclair pieds (white with color on the back) for meat purposes while still being 'pretty' and colorful. Some are simply bibbed, some are whitehead.

I'm thinking I'd like to keep my barreds and that's PRETTY much it. And my imprinted blue pied drake who is my buddy.

This kills me as I LOVE the 'scovies and all their colors., but we need to concentrate on profit on the farm. Having a billion ducks isn't the way to go, especially since 'scovy sales come and go, and it's not like they give eggs in the off-season. Lightening the load seems like the smartest, logical move. Don't worry, they won't starve if they won't sell... We just need to shift in our goals. :( I'd prefer not to take them to auction or have to butcher a ton of them, especially my girls.

If you're in MI or surrounding areas (may deliver/drive part way for cost of gas - negotiable) and want 'scovies at a good deal, feel free to message. I do go to a lot of rabbit shows and could deliver to one of those, as well. Will make an extra effort to go to rabbit shows where buyers want to meet.

The farm is located in Brooklyn, MI.

I can vouch for how beautiful her ducks are. We got four hens from her and they are all beautiful. Then my friend got rid of her ducks which came from Caprice_Acres and they all hatched out ducklings this year for us. I just might PM you Caprice_Acres and get a few more.
