Hi all

This question might sound daft but... do Muscovy ducks move their eggs?

This is the first lot of eggs we have seen laid and they were scattered about, a couple in sheltered areas, now they all seem to have gone.

I am basically just trying to figure out if they have laid the eggs and then moved them somewhere else (I can't get my head around how they would do this!) or are they just being eaten by predators...

Thanks in advance!

Check around, they are likely to have been eaten by predators. Hardly would they move their eggs.

Thanks for both your answers, kind of what I expected, but thought i'd ask...

They seem to have stopped laying since the first 3 or 4 disappeared, any ideas on why that might be?

It's hard to say, but perhaps whatever is 'eating' their eggs may have scared them in a way. Give them some few days and they'll resume. They are Muscovy so their laying habits may not be same as for example a Khaki Campbell or the other layers.
