Please help! I have 4 Muscovy duck eggs that are now in my incubator. My momma duck got eaten by a fox and she was sitting on these. I have no idea how long as we didn't find them til after. They have been in our incubator for 6 days now. I candled them and 2 are solid black with a small air pocket at one end. Then the other 2 I can see veins and movement and about half full. I don't know what I should do. Should I just leave them in the incubator and rotating for 3+ more weeks to be sure. My temp is 99 and the humidity is 70

Where are they on this chart?

I had one Muscovy egg that was, from early on, noticeably darker than the rest. It turned out to be a mostly black baby.

Have you got other Muscovy around? Could another Muscovy hen have added a couple of eggs later on after your other girl started sitting?

I'd keep candling regularly to track where they are at. If you notice the air cells developing a slant they will be getting near hatching and you'll need to increase the humidity. :fl

They are adorable babies.

70 percent humidity would only be for the last few days. Bring the humidity down if possible. I have seen recommendations from 30 to 55. I just run my incubator dry until near the end. Keep checking for internal pips when that happens up the humidity. It sounds like the eggs may be at different stages. You should be ok to up the humidity for hatching the 2 then bring them back down. 5 weeks ago I was in a similar situation and now have to healthy ducklings. Good luck. That chart that was posted looks like Mallard type. I have noticed that Muskovys look like they are ready to pip for several days.

Thank you! I can't see and movement but lots of veins and stuff in there.

Oh no! Maybe I have had them on too much humidity. I was just terrified that I'd shrink them in there. And since I had no idea how long she'd been on them I was worried. I hope they hatch

They won't start to shrink wrap unless they are externally pipped. I wouldn't have humidity as low as 30s, but I'd have it in the 45-50% range. How do the eggs look now?
