muscovy duck killed snake?

BIG rat snake has choked my hens and went after my nesting duck and i found it dead she killed it. Has this ever yappened to anyone? snake was five foot rat snake. THey choked out my hends before why was the duck able to kill it so easy?

That's interesting. Maybe it could grab a hold with it's clawed feet?
Was the snake just dead or eaten?

I haven't yet, but it is just now snake season here.

My Muscovy went after a 5' black snake when she was nesting I heard her attacking it and went out to see what was going on. She wasn't going to back down, I did get the snake out of her house with the rake and carried it off. They can be very brave when it comes to their nest.

My Muscovy have killed a short tailed weasel that tried to get their nest.

They have beaten up a bald eagle that tried to eat them.

They can be very brave when they need to be.

I have no snakes up here..... but I am not surprised.

wow a bald eagle? ONE bird i found egyptian geese will beat up muscovy and break their eggs . I loved those geese but they are just so nasty
