Muscovy duck

The ducks are no longer ducklings they are 2 and a half and 3 and a half months old now Naerys the older duck is starting to fly and doesn't have the caruncles yet unlike Finlay the small duck she has significant caruncles but doesn't fly yet (I don't think her flight feathers are fully in yet for it looks like she has angel wing but that's normal for muscovy) still don't know their gender but there aren't many tell tail signs for them being Male.

Thank you for posting an update. I was wondering about them! I can’t get over how beautiful their coloring is. In a couple of pictures, it looks like Naerys has more of a green sheen and Finlay has more blue, but I’m guessing that it’s just the angle? Anyways, they are lovely, whatever gender they turn out to be!

I believe it's the lighting. They both have shades of green and blue and it changes throughout the day depending on where the sun is. When the sun is at its zenith (12:00) they are more green

muscovy drakes are bigger and have fatter legs, I can already tell mine and they are only 8-9 weeks

Neither of the have big legs and one is bigger but shes also older. There has been no hissing yet but the big one can fly and I hear the females are good flyers

Based on tail shape it looks like the one on the left in the bottom pic is a female and the other is male. Also, females grow their flight feathers in faster than males do.

Those Muscovies are SOO beautiful!!! I absolutely love that color! I hope to have Muscovies that color some day! They are so stunning!

Very pretty!!!
Looks like one male and one female to me. The one in the top photo being female and the one with the red caruncle and all yellow legs male.
