I thought everyone could use a dose of duckling cuteness.
Our babies finally hatched. On day 35 we had two black babies hatch. In truth one needed a lot of help. It pipped internally and then didn't do anything else. I made it a safety hole because it was no longer talking back to me and when I candled it didn't look as active as it had. It never pipped externally and after 48 hours I helped it hatch. It was very ready to be out and I have no idea what the problem was, but it is gorgeous and perfect so I'm glad I stepped in.
This is the one I had to help. It has 'eyelashes' and it's such a cutie.
On day 36 the other three hatched. They are all blues and two of them I cannot tell apart yet so hopefully I've got a photo of each.
This one is darker and has a little yellow spot on its head. It's the other two I have trouble with.
The three blues all came from the same nest and their eggs were huge, so I'm hoping there's a blue girl in the bunch to lay some huge eggs for me.
