i have been raising ducks for the past 9 years or so , and i have always herd how Muscovy are gentle , and sweet .
just wondering if i am the only one who has Muscovy that are jerks .
i raised them since about a week old ( Someone abandoned them ) and i got 3 total , 2 drake , 1 hen .
The 2 drakes are always hissing at me and lunging at me whenever i go near .

Its been a while since i posted on here ! thought i would get back into the online duck world !
hope everyone is staying safe in these crazy times !

Even muscovy drakes can get a little aggressive during the breeding season. With only one hen they may be somewhat sexually frustrated. Trying to stay safe and healthy here - wishing the same for you.

i have 13 hens !
i have kept drakes in the past , but never had ducks that hiss at me like these fellas do !

Beautiful ducks! :love

Try carrying a stick or broom out with you, give them a good nudge if they try to come near you.
Thank you !
i usually just nudge them with the boot , but a stick might be easier !

So they are only hissing? You ought to see my Muscovy drake when he sees my husband. He is ready to eat him up. Something about being male makes my drake look at him as a threat. This is only during breeding season.
i wonder if they will calm down after a while , just hissing and head bobbing , once and a while the larger male will charge at me lol . i have had male goats ,so a duck charge is kinda funny comparatively
