Muscovy Ducks, should I get 6 or 4?

Well, all of you Muscovy fans out there have won me over! I have arranged to pick up some babies tomarrow from a farm 2 1/2 hrs. away. They are st. run, and I would like to end up with at least 2-3 hens, so I am trying to figure out how many I should get. I have lots of room for them, but my avian brood will be increasing again in May, so I don't want to go too bonko's. Give me some advice, and I promise to indulge everyone's addiction to baby duck photos!

get a dozen. lol They are great ducks. I've got 13 right now. 5 drakes and 8 hens. They are some of the funniest birds ever to watch. Such personality

Id say get 7 or more. Trust me their so worth it and their the sweetest things when handled properly

They are gorgeous Wolf Queen... Makes me wish for Mussies too seeing that colour.


Chickboss...Get as many as you realistically can- and pick for gender when they are old enough- and rehome the extras...that way you wont be left with an odd ratio between males and femles.

So... I'll be picking them up tomarrow a.m. bright and early. Pretty excited!!
