How much should I ask for my muscovy eggs? The guy wants a dozen or so. The hatcheries I've looked at are selling them for 60-70 a dozen. I figure 50 for a dozen plus a few extras?

I think the hatcheries jumped on the ability to charge more because of the proposed ban that is going into effect on the 31st. Prior to that becoming publicized, I found them much cheaper.
I purchased a dozen scovy eggs from someone for 25 dollars, included shipping. The very next day, once they found out about the ban, they raised their prices to 45 dollars. I purchased another dozen from someone else for 40 dollars plus shipping. I haven't checked what they are asking now for them.

i think if the person is willing to pay 50 dollars and you are guaranteeing fertility (not hatch rate), then you should ask 50. Supply/demand. Right now the demand is high, which is great for the people who have what others want. I would have paid fifty, because that's how badly I wanted them, and I felt the urgency to get them before the ban took place.

I can guarentee they are fertile. The ducks are humping like crazy. I told them I wanted 50 for a dozen and I would throw in a few extras if I had them. Now I just wait and see what they want to do.

Supply and demand, I suppose. We have so many fertile muscovy eggs right now that they are being sold for eating at $3 a dozen.

My only concern would be for your reputation. If a customer comes away from a business deal feeling ripped off, then that will haunt you later down the road. I can buy live muscovy ducklings for $3 each, and market ready twelve week old muscovies for $8 to $10.

It just depends on the area. Supply & demand.

I sold 18 a few weeks ago for $19
I just bought 17 for $7
