My 2 Muscovy drake-less duck hens have started fighting all of a sudden after 2.5 years. Formerly they lived in harmony. I put the aggressor, Lucy, in a large dog crate inside their enclosure. They can see each other. When I let Lucy out this morning she was attacking Ethel within 30 seconds. I put Lucy back in confinement.

How long does it take when you separate them for them to resume a peaceful co-existence? This year for the first time, they have both become broody but up until yesterday no fighting.

What else can I do?9

Please help? I love my 2 ducks. They are about 3 years old. They could be sisters.

Broody Muscivy just wallk around looking for a fight. One of mine will chase down anything that might be standing close by when she comes out. Hilarious to watch her try and catch my rooster. It's extremely hard to break a Muscvy once they go broody I take all eggs away and clean out any nest they have made put in fresh shavings and they will still brood. So I started putting things to block off where they were brooding like bales of shavings only to find one brooding on top of it. [they are nuts] So best thing to do is what your doing try and break up the nesting area and don't leave any eggs. 2 of mine that were going at it earlier in May and June are now over it and can sleep in the same coop without getting into it.
