This is my first experience with Muscovies setting. She has been setting for about 1 1/2 weeks. This morning I intended to close her in the room she is in, in the barn. I put feed and water there... closed the door.. with intentions of giving her privacy. I thought she was in there on her nest. About three hours later I went to check on her, then discovered she wasn't in that room at all... but was outside. I was careless in not double checking before I closed the door. So... question is: Her eggs were uncovered for about three hours. Inside the barn. Temps outside were in the low 50's. When I noticed my mistake, I let her in and she went right to her nest. Do you think the eggs will be okay? I sure hope so. I'll let her continue setting... and hope for the best. Have any of you had a similar experience.

I enjoy my muscovies so much. They enter act with me and with each other. When I let "mama" back into the room another muscovy duck and the drake went with her. The drake walked with her to her nest... when she was settled he and the other duck came out of the room on their own. They seemed to know all about the situation. Love my Muscovies !! So sorry about this mishap this morning... I'm so looking forward to muscovy ducklings.
