When I got into ducks, I swore I'd never get those "strange looking Muscovy," & now they are my favorite breed! They have wonderful personalities, & are nowhere near as skittish as my Welsh or Golden Cascades! I have 2, a drake & a hen who both fly to me to say hello!
I live in Palmer, Alaska, 50+miles north of Anchorage, & find the Muscovy hardy, easy keepers. Mine don't free range, due to the many various predators, but my husband is working on more "chicken tractors" so I can move all my feathered friends around the farm.
