Hi I have a pair of black muskovy ducks and I'm getting two eggs a day now for a couple days and I'm puzzled as to why or is it normal for muskovys to lay two eggs a day.

I'm pretty sure they are a pair I cracked open 4 eggs that got to cold cuz of the weather and they all had bulls eyes on the yokes plus the femal is pretty dossier and will let you touch her and the male is very aprehensive and the feathers on his head stand up the females don't not that I have ever seen anyway they are also always together and she is the only one on the nest as for pic I'll try

The eggs are same size as a xl brown egg perfectly shaped and an off white color and heavier than a chicken egg if you ask me and when I opened them the yokes are very large

Good luck with your ducks and enjoy BYC!

If you post a picture I'm sure someone could verify the sex of your ducks to help solve this mystery. If you found two eggs on one day, I would say it's possible one duck did that, depending on when you checked and what her lay cycle was. But two days in a row of two eggs a day seems highly unlikely for one duck. Three days in row of two eggs a day for one duck seems impossible, so if it really is one duck you've got something amazing going on.

Welcome to BYC. Muscovy hens as well as drakes can raise their head feathers. It's almost impossible that one hen is laying two eggs daily on a routine basis. All eggs contain a visible nucleus that some confuse with the bulls eye appearance of a fertile egg.
